Little Rock Nine Prep
Pretend you are Daisy Bates, President of the NAACP in 1957. You have to "prep" the Little Rock Nine on how they should react and behave during certain challenges as the first black students attending an all white high school. What would you tell them? How would you teach them to behave? Explain your answer using details.

I would tell them to watch out from them self. They should probably sit together at lunch. If they do talk to the white students kind of observer them before you do. They could be racist and try to have you kicked out of the school.
I would just say be respectful. Only talk when you have to. Try to do your best. Sit in front of the class if you could. That way the teacher wont say your not working. Even if the teachers give you a hard time. Still be respectful.
I if I was supposed to prep the Little Rock Nine, I would tell them that they need to keep their anger under control because their will be times when they would want to charge at people. I would tell them not to take some of the stuff they may say to heart because some of them are just mad because blacks are finally going to an all white school. I would tell them these things because it is very important that we prove our selves and show them that blacks are as intelligent as the whites. One more thing that I would tell them is even when the students be mean to you or do stuff to you that you may not like they need to show PASSIVE RESISTANCE, and be like their ancestors. I would tell them this because it's important that we be strong and not cave in.
There are many things i would tell the little rock nine. One thing i would tell them is that Non-violence is the way. Close to what Gandhi said. Another way is to explain the cause and effect by, using the situations that they have to go threw. An example: If you were yelled by a person that is a white all you need to do is keep quiet. Silence is a way of protesting and a powerful way because it will make you powerful and them stronger.
If i was daisy bates i would probably tell the little rock nine to be careful since its a all whites school and they are the only blacks. I would probably tell them that they should be really mature, show there abilities, don"t react alot when it comes to a situation.Basically ways that might shock the rest of the students. Even though there is alot of challenges, they should break it down to make it easier, a piece of advice to them.
The thing I will tell them how to behave if a student is attacking you do not attack back because you are outnumber and you could get heart the other thing I will tell them is if the student are calling you name or other thing that you do not like never let them see you crying because if they see you crying they are going to think we are doing some harm and they are going to keep doing the same thing over and over to a limit that you wanted to attack back and you are going to get kill and hurt so that why I am telling you this and the other peace of information is that violence is not the answer for everything sometime. I said do not let them see you crying because I got that from the men that help Elizabeth Eockfer said that frace.
If I was Daisy Bates the president of the NAACP and I had to prep the Little Rock Nine. I would tell them to stay strong and don't let nobody get in your way of what you want to become. Also I would let them know that when a white step to you and call you all types of names just walk away and don't pay it any mind.
Well I would tell them that they should be strong, because there is a lot going on right now and so they have to be strong because they are attending an all white school and they aren't welcome by many. If they was to get attack then I would tell them not to fight back the best way they would be fight back is by not responding to the white students. I would teach them to behave in a well manner because it's bad enough they are the only nine African Americans in that school so they have to meet high expection for example if a Staff member or student was to make a rude comment or statement and the students wanted to respond back to what the staff members and student said but they cant it takes a lot so it all has to do with disaplane.

If i was president of the NAACP i would tell the blacks students that it is very important to remind yourself why you go to school. The reason you go to school is so you can get a good education and to become rich & a smart BLACK MAN & WOMAN.

Since I am Daisy Bates I would tell the first black students to go to an all white school to act like they don't care about what people say. I would tell them to not show any emotion that your perfectly fine about what they say to you or do to you. They will try to get to you and it would probably work but if you show that your weaker than them they'll probably think that your so weak. They might say your stupid but your strong and smart enough to go through this and go to an all white school! I would tell them that they might be treated different from the life you had at your old school. I would prepare them having a "play" of what it could or might be like to get them ready to keep there anger in control and that's what i would do. And i think that would help them a lot more.
If I were Daisy Bates, I would tell the Little Rock Nine to behave in a respectful manner. I would tell them in a state of matter, if one of you all are cornered, do not add attention to it. Do not help, as bad as it may seem because it may start a riot and you will be pointed out and targeted even though 9 times out of 10 it may not be your fight. I would tell them not to shout or argue back in certain cases. Speak in a calm non-violent voice. I would prep them by a role play, pretend to take on the race of a Caucasian and taunt them so they can know how the situation may feel and how they can get through it without a struggle or getting into problems.
wait on a second though i wouldn't tell them not to worry because They can't not worry because they are living in the moment, instead of telling them I would try to modiviate them get them to be prepared for the worst because if it were me i would be mad if someone told me not to worry i would be upset because there not in the situation I Am.

I would tell them don't be afraid because when the whites see you shooken up then they get stronger because it's like their feeding off your weakness. I would teach them how to behave by telling them keep your pride and your head up if they lay a hand on you then you stand even taller don't react.Just stand their and or just walk away.Don't let them preassure you into doing anything that you don't want to do. Follow Mahaut Maguandi and his princibles.
If i was Daisy Bates i would tell THE LITTLE ROCK NINE to watch out for them self. Like they should have each others backs. Like they should stick together because they going threw a crowd of white people. && they are the only black people there. That they shouldn't let NO WHITE PEOPLE get under there skin. Always be STRONG and keep there heads up. Even dough they talking A LOT of Sugar Honey Ice Tea and its really hard ignoring people that is talking a lot of things that is offended. I would just ignore them and keep it moving.
I would just kept my patients and not let no body get on my nerves. point blank.
And oh i think Elizabeth was one of the strongest people out of L.R.N because i think she went threw the most craziest thing just to go to school.
If I were to be Daisy Bates president of the NAACP in 1957, I would give them many advices. Advices such as be strong and stay together with the rest of your teammates. Remember that if you fight back you get in trouble and not the white students because of their skin color. Just be yourself but think before you react because whatever choice you make can affect you in many ways. There's no pressure on what you do but just don't make bad decisions.
I would tell them to stick together at all times.I would tell them the type of experiences they going to have to go through.

I would tell them that they are going to be going to a school were there is a lot of white students and there will be some harrasment and there will be people hating you because you are not there color. I will also tell them to keep their dignity and keep their heads high.
I would teach them the I would show them.....
If i was president of the NAACP in 1957.Id warn the kids to stay together, try and make white friends if you can,but at all times stick together. Also i would tell the kids to don't talk back to the rude and disrespectful comments that the other kids might say to them, use passive resistance to keep you safe.
The things I would say tyo the little rock nine student attending a all white student is to not react to the white students at all. Only because some of the white student there might not like black students. There might be sometimes when a black student might say something that doesnt sound right to a white student and they might change the story up and start something that wasnt ment to be started. The behavor i will expect from the little rock nine student is to be on there best behavior. Only so that they can change the minds of some white people sayng that blacks are smart and that they have the abilty to have the same eduation as a white student. And that is what i will say to the little rock nine students.
I would tell them to couperate with people. make sure when a group of people follows you just ignore the comment's that they say. be sure to all way's have each other's back and to not atempt to fight back because that would damage you even more.
i would all so tell them to have fun to be proud to be the first black student's in an all white school. that this would pass down in history. i would show them how to dress, eat and speck properly. i would show them that white's aren't the only one's who can be proper.

well i would help them get ready by acting like white person to see what they would do and the i would tell them to stay together at all times. and i would also would help them whit the white people attack them to just keep walking even do it hurts
I would tell the black students to not talk to the whites. Also that your going to get in trouble even if you look at them. You wouldn't want to get none of the white students mad because if they start fighting you the police are "NOT" going to help.
I WOULD TELL THEM THAT THEY SHOULD ACT APPROPRIATE NO MATTER THE SITUATION. ALWAYS TRY TO MAKE THE BEST OUT OF THE SITUATION.
I would tell the black students to be prepared on anything because the people in the school wont like you just because our skin color. they will try to kick you out the school if you make 1 mistake.
