Eyes on the Prize documentary

During the next few weeks, you will view many disturbing events relating to the Civil Rights Movement. You may see people being treated unfair, beat and even murdered. You will also see people standing up to injustice, marching in large groups, singing, smiling, and shouting.

Why do you think it is important to learn about these disturbing events?

I believe this is an important because everything we learn about is history, and for people to know what people went through. Also to show the fight to get what we got and to be i guess appreciative for the ones who got us this freedom and to see different methods of making things better.

I think it is important to learn about these events because it shows us our past. And what our ancestors been through. This also shows us how far we have come from then to now,so that we can cherish what we have now.It is also important to see how we have overcome these bad events in the past, and maybe it can help us in the present.

It is important to learn about these things because it can be a huge part of the American history. Even though it is gruesome and bloody, it is still important to learn. People getting beat up and murdered isn't the only part of the events. It is about the speeches and things like that.

I believe that it is important to learn these event so we can learn about American history. Also learning about these things can help us get better view on why the world is how it is today. If we did not learn about these things and they were forgotten then a huge piece of our history would almost seem to disappear.WE would not understand full on why things like discrimination is still going on and why people are trying to stop it.

I think it is important to learn about these things because it is history. If you are living in this world I think it is important for people to know what happend in this world before they was there. Another important thing is ethnicity. It had something to do with ethnicity becuase im sure people would want to know how their ethnic background was treated back then in those times.

The reason why it is important to learn about these disturbing event is to tell the people today how much the other went though just be to treated fair. They are try to let us know the pain they went though to allow other ethnicity to be in the same place with each other. Also were people can live peaceful with knowing someone is about to kill them to night just because of there color.

Its important to learn about these disturbing events because it effects us today. for we can see how our past was, how our great grandparents and grandparents were getting treated back when I or my friends were thought of. To let us know that back then it was a totally different view then today is. for we can understand why we got racist, stereotypes... Also to inform us that race was a big deal to others back then "YES RACE".

I think is important to learn about these disturbing events because we will learn what the people had to go through just because of their Race,Ethnicity or nationality. I also think is important to learn about these disturbing events because you learn about the history.

I'm sure it is important to learn about these disturbing events because this makes you think about the way you treat people or it reminds you of a way you had felt before and also to always appreciate what you have or don't have . Take a a min of your time and find out how was life before and how it is now.

I think it is important to learn about these events because

1. We can learn to stand up for our selves and our rights

2. It's important to learn about the people that fought for what's right and what they did to make the world the way it is right now[[ NOT MEANING ALL THE VIOLENCE]] ETC...

I think it is important to learn about these events because. If kids or people in general dont know that Racism is going on then how will they know how to protect themselves from it. people for years have been discriminated for many many years. If children aren't exposed to this then they are going to think the world is a little fun land where they don't have to be careful they don't have to watch where they are going but here is a reality check some people are so unfair when it comes to race because i have seen so much racism take place in this world. People not being able to use a bathroom because the store owner is a different race, people not being able to play at a certain park or place just because the people who live there are a certain race, or people not being able to join into basketball games or any other fun activity taking place just because the majority of the kids playing are one race. I'm getting really sick of having to witness all this i wish people can just look through people skin color, ethnicity, nationality and just see them for who they are but not where they come from. So you mean to tell me if that kid was the same kid but had the same skin color as you then you will play with him, nothing has except for his skin color and so just because of that you are willing to play with him. but thats all i have to say and thats my perspective.

Learning about the disturbing events that accured during the civil rights movement is very important to learn because just learning that people got hurt during the movement isn't much to know. Knowing the details is best especialy since
