Citizenship...

What does it mean to be a citizen? When is citizenship important? Expain.

To be a citizen you must do what you do to care for your area and respect your community. There are lots of citizens in the U.S. People participate in the community to do stuff. Citizenship is most important when there are big cities. The people gather around to do business. Cities are usually crowded because hey are full of citizens.For example, Citizens bank is for citizens. A lot of people use that bank to make withdraws deposits and other stuff.Anyway, Citizenship is very important. To be a good citizen, you must do the following:


1.Do not try to vandalize your city

2.Try to participate in community activities.

This is just like the essential question for the class.

How do I participate and effect the communities I am a part of?

Being a citizen gives us advantages that foreigners dont have. In other words we have priveleges. When they come to our country there are some things they cannot participate in. But also they are relieved of our duties. That doesnt mean that they cannot contribute or help us keep America clean and safe but, they dont have specific jobs because they were not born here.

what it means to be a citizen to me is that we are entitled to our opinion to what is going own in the world to day. i think that citizenship is in portent when we are coming together as an community or as an whole.

citizenship means a legally recognized subject or national of a state or commonwealth in a dictionary but to me i think it means i guess people and there rights that are from America

citizen |ˈsitizən; -sən| (abbr.: cit.) noun: an inhabitant or a person of a particular town or city. That is the dictionary definition. Instead of that I think it means a person that is a resident or some kind of a member in a city or town.

To be a citizen.It means to contribute to the community and the daily things that people do to keep it safe and clean.Also to be a citizen means you are apart of the country that you are living in.You cant just come to a country and be a citizen you need to be legal.Also to be a citizen means that you are with your country and not against it.8E!

CITIZENSHIP MEANS WHEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH YOUR COUNTRY. IF YOUR A CITIZEN THEN YOUR ALLOWED TO VOTE. IF ANYTHING HAPPENS DIFFERENT IN YOUR COUNTRY THEN IT WILL EFFECTED YOU IN A NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE WAY, IT DEPENDS ON THE SITUATION. ALSO IT IS THE DUTIES, RIGHTS, AND PRIVILEGES OF A CITIZEN. ITS BASICALLY BEING A CITIZEN.IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH PEOPLE WHO BY BIRTH OR BY CHOICE IS MEMBERS OF A NATION. SO CITIZENSHIP IS A GROUP OF THOSE KIND OF PEOPLE.

I think that to be a citizen means an inhabitant of a particular town or city. citizen could mean having rights. citizen could also mean being legally in the country. I think citizenships could be most important when you could be protesting, fighting for what you believe in or just being a kind person thats what i think."8E"

What it means to be a is that you are legit in a certain place. when you become a citizen you have rights that you can stand for. the bill or rights is as follows::::


When the Constitution was ratified in 1789, many people were concerned that it did not protect certain freedoms. They thought that the Constitution should be changed or amended to protect these freedoms. On December 15, 1791, ten amendments were added to the Constitution. The first eight amendments set out or enumerate the substantive and procedural individual rights associated with that description. The 9th and 10th amendments are general rules of interpretation of the relationship among the people, the State governments, and the Federal Government. These amendments guarantee certain freedoms and rights, so they are known as the Bill of Rights.

Amendment I - "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Amendment II - "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Amendment III - "No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law."

Amendment IV - "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Amendment V - "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

Amendment VI - "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."

Amendment VII - "In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law."

Amendment VIII - "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

Amendment IX - "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

Amendment X - "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

what it means to be to be a citizen is to be free in other words without being a citizen you have to get for example a green card to stay in the U.S.A and that's for a certain period of time and if you want to stay then you have to try to become apart of the U.S.A and try to become a citizen and that practically means your free and don't have to take anymore test or get a green card to sty in the united states so i think that being a citizen means to be free Now why it's important is because it can help you in the future and it can probably give you better for life like if you live on an island they probably didn't have that much education and you might try to become a citizen and go to a better school that can help a lot with you job

Being a citizen to me means to be part of the united states. If you are not and legal citizen of the united states of America then you cant vote for who you want to be President of the U.S.A. so to be a citizen of the means you get to have a word on what you want to happen and you get to vote for your answer. Citizenship is important because lets say you want to be doctor and you come in this state with no papers then you wont get to study or get into the school you want to get into because you are not a legal resident or a citizen of that place. Is also important because you get to vote for something and you also have rights for being a legal citizen.

TO BEING A CITIZEN MEANS TO CARE FOR OTHER AND YOUR COMMUNITY ALSO CITIZENSHIP IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IS WHAT MOVES US AS A COMMUNITY
AND AS A STATE THEY ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT CARE ABOUT ARE CITIZENSHIP YOU WOULD BE AMAZED OF HOW MANY PEOPLE CARE

to be a citizen means to be apart of the community. to be born in that country your a citizen in that country. so if you weren't born there your not a citizen there in less you get something like a green card.you won't be a full citizen or should i say you wouldn't be citizen for ever you'll only be a citizen for like 2 years in less you renew it.citizenship is important when you help out your community and try to make your community a better place for all not just for you but for the community

citizen means that your apart of the united states. like im a because i live my life in the united states. an citizen means that your free to live in the US but if your not from the US you have to have a green card. if you dont have a green card you will get deported. citizenship is important when like you want to do any thing in the US because if your not you cant do much. an thats what i think citizenship is.

I think what it means to be a citizen is. Having rights to do stuff like being able to get jobs without being illegally working so they wont call it a sweatshop because if you are taking in immigrants they will call u a sweatshop well only if your mistreating them. What I also think it means to be a citizen is having a green card and having citizenships being able to stay in the country without immigration on your tail. Thats what I think citizenship is.

I think they chose the name because people bank there alot. According to my research, It was founded in Massachusetts.

Here is a quote that i found:

In 1985, Citizens changed status from a mutual savings bank to a federal stock savings bank. Expansion into other states began with Massachusetts in 1986. In 1988, Citizens accepted a takeover bid from the Scottish based bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which used Citizens Bank as a stepping stone into the American market. In the following sixteen years under RBS ownership, Citizens acquired several smaller banks in the New England area to become the second largest bank in the region. In 1996, the acquisition of First NH Bank saw the Bank of Ireland gain a 23.5% stake in Citizens, which was repurchased two years later by RBS.

what does it mean to be a citizen it mean in the state of the US for you to have all your paper work. such as green card, social id # and id if your 18 years or older. your a if you was born with in the US. When you are try to get a job and try to leave the US like to travel in a plane.

i don't think that citizen are really most important when there are big cities because it doesn't matter where you are a citizen is a citizen and not all citizen are allowed to vote yet if you a 12 year old citizen you not allowed to vote. but if they are just people who are visiting I'm sure they can chip in to help clean yes amber they don't live here but they can help because who knows they might try to or they probably start visiting every single year so they might not live but they do visit a lot and they probably contributes to the mess in the enviorment makes it even dirtier then they can help clean

Being a citizen means that you would have to a certain respect of things for your country. if there is something to be done you as a citizen should do it automatically do because you should care for your town. It should be you duty to want to make the area safe. Also being a citizen you should also be obligated to have certain rights. Rights like letting your voice being heard at a public meeting you should have the right of freedom of speech. This is what I believe a citizen is
